This morning,at a splendidly late 0900, LB stirred. I heard the soft shuffle of feet(which is not the usual "thump, thump, thump"). Then I heard a light click on in the water closet. I heard her pick up her toilet seat, scoot her stool in place and climb on. I was sure I was going to hear fussing now, that's the normal course of these things, but instead I hear her getting her pants off... Surely, the fussing will come now, but instead I hear her snaps popping as she takes off her diaper. I couldn't have been more proud! She had been going on her on without help before she turned two, but after her daddy left from R&R she had a complete regression. We are now back on track. And what's more she has started showing promise in going in public bathrooms as well.
Past our lovely morning triumph, I took her to her room and let her pick out some pajamas. She had a late night with some friends at Megaplay and was asleep when I got her home. She was still in yesterday's clothes, all the way down to her hair bow. I opened the drawer for her, and she did her usual routine of touching every single pair. She finally poked a pair and said"Strawcake" (which is her strawberry shortcake pair). She had a small fuss, after getting into her pajamas that she couldn't get her "Abby shoe" on( her Abby Cadabby sneakers), but I managed to convince her to wear slippers instead. I ran to take the dog out and she followed and then we went back upstairs and I put in our movie. We always watch a movie together in the morning on either Saturday or Sunday. Today we watched "Wall-E". I got out our usual movie snacks, grapes and trail mix. At first, she seemed scared of the robots even telling me "scared", but she warmed up fast and even started to reach out to the screen and call to them. She got worried for them several times too and would ask me, "robots?" in a worried fashion. It's always great to have a nice cuddly morning. It was mostly an uneventful day for us. She was very funny about pulling her pants up almost to her chest today, plus they would be wrong side out, so the tag was sticking out. I wish I would've gotten a picture, because she looked hilarious. She learned some new words today and cleared up some. She now, clearly says, "what happened"? She also told me when I was putting her to bed, "I am a builder". She is hopelessly in love with "Bob the Builder" and Deigo.
